Join our team as a Credit Operations Underwriter I, where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business results and customer satisfaction.
As a Credit Operations Underwriter I in the Consumer Lending department, you will focus on business results by decisioning new and existing application requests. The Call Center Credit Ops Underwriter I work is creative, exciting, and different every day. 

Job responsibilities: 
  • Work in a call center environment that requires 100% phone-based customer interaction 
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills, while staying engaged with our customers
  • Communicate with customers in a metrics-driven environment 
  • Navigate multiple technologies while demonstrating resiliency and extreme adaptability in a fast-paced environment 
  • Take ownership of each customer and document their interaction while treating them with respect and responding with empathy 
  • Work both independently and in a team environment 
  • Abide by all applicable regulatory and departmental practices and procedures 
 
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer interaction or customer support experience required, either by phone or face-to-face 
  • Minimum of 1 year computer experience required, utilizing multiple computer applications in a Windows-based environment 
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Complete and successfully pass the Panel Evaluation upon completion of training in order to obtain Lending Authority
 
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 
  • Ability to multitask using a computer and simultaneously provide customer support 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, consistently changing environment 
  • Previous experience working in a Fraud, Underwriting, Mortgage and Call Center 
  • Have a passion for helping people by solving problems, presenting, and explaining solutions 
  
Work Schedule:
Candidates must be willing and able to work schedules during our operating hours, which may include evenings and weekends. Specific schedule information will be provided by the Recruiter. 

Panel Process:
All New Hires are required to complete and successfully pass the Panel Evaluation during training in order to obtain Lending Authority.  The Panel Evaluation Process is a component of training that evaluates your ability to apply the learned JPMC Lending Philosophy.  In addition to fulfilling all other expectations of the position, your continued employment with Chase will be contingent on successfully passing the panel evaluation.
