Join the Corporate Development team at Chase, which is broadly responsible for strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions across Chases consumer lines of business Consumer Bank, Business Bank, Wealth Management, Card Services, Connected Commerce, Home Lending, and Auto Lending. These initiatives are critical to Chases ability to execute on its core strategies and meet the needs of our customers in a rapidly changing financial services ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to develop and lead these strategic initiatives that require careful consideration as well as a relentless focus on execution.

As a Associate on this team, you will be a key member of a small, high performance team, working across two of the largest businesses within Chase Consumer Bank and Wealth Management. You should be comfortable leading strategic analyses across multiple projects, forming meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and understanding how to lead through influence across a large, multifaceted organization. You will play a key role in supporting Consumer Bank and Wealth Managements senior executives to evaluate how the financial ecosystem is changing, assess the implications to Chase, and identify external opportunities that will deliver value to our businesses and to Chases customers. You have outstanding analytical skills, a good eye for attention to detail and regularly produces flawless work, a passion for consumer financial services, and can stay organized across multiple initiatives, and an ability to take initiative with minimal guidance and oversight. 

The Consumer Bank & Wealth Management function in Corporate Development is responsible for strategic partnerships, investments, and acquisitions across Chases retail deposit and wealth management businesses. The team has three primary functions: 1) identify ways to grow and evolve both businesses through third-party strategies and transactions, 2) lead and execute on all third-party initiatives, including evaluation and negotiation of all transactions, and 3) manage ongoing relationships with existing strategic partners.

Job responsibilities:  

  • Support the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of strategic opportunities for our Consumer Bank and Wealth Management organizations
  • Collaboratively develop our book of work and pipeline of opportunities with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, analysis of the competitive landscape, leading diligence, and making recommendations
  • Support presentations and proposals to senior executives across the Consumer Bank and Wealth Management
  • Develop and help deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
  • Work with finance, legal and other functional partners to develop business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with partnerships
  • Monitor external environment for important competitive developments and potential partnership opportunities and share perspectives with key line of business partners
  • Ensure all deals are executed in accordance with firmwide policies, controls and procedures

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

  • 4+ years industry experience, across financial services and/or management consulting; candidate must have at least two years of work experience
  • BS degree or equivalent experience required
  • Thrives as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented, cross functional environment
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with strong project management ability 
  • Able to build relationships inside and outside the company
  • Intellectual curiosity in fintech industry and ability to learn new subjects quickly
  • Proficient MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Prior experience in strategy and/or corporate development at a large institution
