Role and responsibilities overview:

  • The Security Capital Research Analyst will be a member of the Portfolio Research & Execution team, responsible for delivering research across client portfolios and select real estate-related businesses. The role entails listed real estate company analysis as well as top-down macro analysis driven by supply/demand dynamics, investment valuation and pricing.  Research will include assessing the investment potential of broader real estate adjacent companies and working to identify innovative approaches to valuation by leveraging insights and analytics from across US Equities. The analyst will produce clear, client-ready analysis to support client engagement, including portfolio and performance context, exposure/risk narratives, and bespoke research that articulates positioning, themes and investment rationale to internal and external audiences. The analyst will also partner with Portfolio Managers and the broader investment team to monitor portfolio positions and respond quickly to company/news, support client-facing deliverables by providing analysis of portfolio metrics and respond to client questions with clear, data-backed insights.

 

Required qualifications, skills, and competencies

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Accounting, or a related field
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in real estate investment, equity research, or a related analytical role with real estate exposure
  • Demonstrated ability to build excel models and perform scenario analysis tied to real estate fundamentals and capital structure
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex real estate concepts into clear investment and client narratives
  • Independent thinker with the ability to perform research with limited oversight and effective at collaborating with team members

 

Preferred qualifications, skills, and competencies

  • MBA or CFA (or progress toward) preferred, with coursework/credentials in real estate
  • Experience producing client-ready analysis and materials
  • Comfort leveraging data tools (e.g., Excel, AI) and research platforms to automate recurring analytics
