As an Associate / Analyst in the RFP Team, you will be instrumental in both acquiring new business and retaining existing clients. This will be achieved through the completion of client-initiated documents, typically in the form of a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), and/or Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ), for Institutional and Retail clients as well as distributors of JPMAMs products and services. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with internal partners such as Client Advisors, Investment Specialists, Portfolio Managers, Client Account Managers, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, etc., to source, create, and maintain language and data pieces that are stored and maintained across regions and asset classes for client use.
Job responsibilities:
- Creates accurate, compelling, and client-focused RFP responses while updating DDQs for existing clients; also responds to RFIs from prospective clients and consultants
- Maintains firm-wide information and investment process language; organization of RFP language in the departments proposal software system
- Leverages document automation to streamline the RFP response and client document production process, improving efficiency and consistency
- Develops strong, effective, two-way working relationships with key stakeholders, including Global Institutional and Global Funds Sales teams, and Client Service Teams
- Gains quickly a broad knowledge of the structure and operations of the firm; and the range of investment services and vehicles offered by JPMAM, collaborates with colleagues in JPMAM offices globally
- Interfaces with many business partners who will help in providing data and answering questions more thoroughly (e.g., Sales teams, Portfolio Analysis Group, Investment Specialist, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Trading and other departments)
- Builds an understanding of clients differing needs and levels of sophistication, in order to tailor responses to the target audience
- Participates in other activities relevant to the new business process and the department function
- Adhere rigorously to approved review, comply with, and keep records according to procedures
- Implements processes to control and, where possible, improve production and win/success rates of RFPs completed by the team
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent writing skills in Japanese; and businesslevel English required (reading, writing, and speaking); clear communication with global stakeholders
- Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail, strong numeracy
- Strong capability in document automation, with a relevant background, and/or comfortable with adopting automation
- Responsive to client requests; ability to work under pressure, and with flexibility, to meet tight deadlines
- Confidence to work directly with stakeholders at all levels, both to ensure their RFP service needs are met, and to partner with them to agree priorities and deadlines
- Awareness of business risk and compliance procedures
- Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook skills (intermediate); an overall willingness and ability to pick up new technologies
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative global team, as well as on ones own initiative; sensitivity to different cultures and working styles
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Genuine passion for learning about our business and investment products, as well as genuine interest in the presentation and customization of completed documents
- SITCA License, Senior Brokerage License, or Trust License required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Prior experience of writing or participating in the RFP process
- Financial market awareness and understanding of basic financial concepts
- Experience in financial services and/or strong knowledge of asset management
