The Team
The Global Market Insights Strategy Team provides macroeconomic and capital markets insights and research to institutional investors, financial advisors, and their clients to help them make informed investment decisions. The team strives to simplify the complex in the global economy and markets through our industry-leading publication, the Guide to the Markets as well as speeches, webcasts, podcasts, blogs and other forms of communication.
The Role
A Market Insights Research Analyst is responsible for supporting our Global Market Strategists in conducting macroeconomic and capital market research. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their passion for macroeconomics and financial markets through a combination of their work experience, academic background, and extracurricular activities. A particular emphasis will be placed on strong quantitative and statistical skills, along with superior verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must take initiative to assume responsibility for the tasks outlined below and possess the skills to execute these tasks independently with keen attention to quality and detail.
Responsibilities
Conduct research on U.S. Equities
Own production for the equity section of the Guide to the Markets, including generating content and research and updating data.
Author quarterly Earnings Bulletin on current earnings season. Publish daily earnings update tracking earnings season.
Conduct research on broader global economy and capital markets
Author Weekly Market Recap, highlighting key market and economic developments and tying them to the teams broader outlook/views.
Support Global Market Strategists on specific research initiatives. Leverage team views to conduct own independent research and analysis.
Present team outlook on global economy and capital markets
Provide written responses to questions from clients and the sales force in a timely fashion.
Present the Guide to the Markets to an internal audience and select client opportunities.
- Record short-form videos for social media on key economic releases or thematic research.
Moderate client webcasts and occasional podcasts.
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of and passion for financial markets and global economics. Ability to generate and pursue an individual research agenda.
Two years of experience in financial services. Experience with equity research preferred.
Superior quantitative and analytical skills. Python fluency preferred.
Proficiency in Factset and/or Bloomberg.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and style.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or related major preferred. Liberal arts majors considered.
CFA candidate or desire to pursue designation is highly recommended.
