As an Agency Insurance Associate in Loan Servicing and Asset Management, you oversee multifamily insurance compliance to help ensure investor-owned loans meet coverage and documentation requirements. You partner with vendors, internal teams, insurance agents, and clients to identify and resolve coverage gaps and compliance exceptions. You monitor renewal activity, manage exceptions and waivers where permitted, and escalate risks that may impact clients, the firm, and investors.

Job responsibilities 

  • Perform annual insurance renewal compliance oversight for a multifamily servicing portfolio to confirm renewal documentation aligns with applicable investor and lender requirements.
  • Coordinate annual renewal policy compliance reviews completed by approved third-party vendors and/or the internal Insurance Associate team.
  • Review coverage forms, limits, deductibles, carrier acceptability, cancellation provisions, mortgagee and loss payee wording, additional insured status, and required endorsements.
  • Reconcile vendor outputs and findings, and ensure issues are documented, tracked, and resolved within required timelines.
  • Manage exceptions, waivers, and variances (when permitted) by collecting supporting documentation, obtaining required approvals, and driving timely closure.
  • Maintain direct client and borrower contact as the consistent point of contact for the client experience and compliance status.
  • Assess renewal-related risks, including coverage lapses, non-renewals, material coverage changes, and recurring non-compliance, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (including servicing, asset management, and risk partners) to resolve persistent or high-risk renewal compliance issues.
  • Track insurance-related origination and onboarding activities to support compliant loan set-up and documentation.
  • Produce and monitor waiver requests and supporting documentation to meet oversight requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and status reporting to support ongoing monitoring, audit readiness, and stakeholder communication.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • Three years of insurance experience in multifamily real estate
  • Working familiarity with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac insurance requirements and lender insurance standards, with the ability to apply program guides and coverage requirements
  • Clear knowledge of commercial insurance coverage, including property (including flood, wind, earthquake, and terrorism), general liability (including workers compensation and auto), professional liability, and umbrella/excess liability
  • Ability to review policies, binders, endorsements, certificates, and evidence of insurance to confirm limits, deductibles, effective dates, forms, and required wording and endorsements meet guidelines
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a detail-oriented, quality-focused environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple levels of an organization
  • Strong organization skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience partnering with third-party vendors and coordinating issue resolution activities
  • Ability to document, track, and drive closure of compliance exceptions and approvals
  • Sound judgment and risk awareness, including the ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately
