The Commercial & Specialized Industries (C&SI) group at JPMorgan Chase serves companies with $20 million to $2 billion in annual revenue, as well as municipalities and not-for-profit organizations, delivering both traditional banking (lending and cash management) and investment banking solutions (capital markets, risk management, and advisory). 

With more than 100 locations nationwide and access to the firms global resources, we offer clients customized, comprehensive solutions and exceptional service. 

As a Summer Analyst, youll gain direct exposure to client work across banking, treasury, and credit, along with strategic project experience that broadens your understanding of how we serve complex clients. How were organized:

Our diversified industries experience is organized into five regional groups (Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, Southeast and Pacific) and a variety of industry segments, including, but not limited to, Agribusiness, Life Sciences, Government, Healthcare, Higher Education, Not-for-profit, and Technology and Disruptive Commerce. You may be interested in this experience if youre looking for broad exposure to key functions and teams across C&SI. 

Summer Analysts supporting our regional groups will work with C&SI Bankers, Credit Officers, Treasury Officers and Product Partners who cover a variety of industries to provide a range of financing solutions and strategic advisory.

What to expect:

As a Summer Analyst in the Commercial & Specialized Industries (C&SI) group, you will gain broad exposure to client management, credit structuring, and cash management while working with C&SI Bankers, Credit Officers, Treasury Officers and Product Partners. The 9-week program will begin with a week of orientation and training, giving you foundational business knowledge youll build upon throughout the summer.

You will also have the opportunity to hear from and network with senior leaders and spend time with peers from programs across the bank at philanthropic and group events.

Upon successful completion of the internship program, you may receive an offer of full-time employment in our 2.5 year, full-time C&SI Analyst Program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working on financial models to support financing transactions
  • Preparing marketing materials for use in client meetings (covering topics such as financing alternatives, working capital optimization, and industry analysis)
  • Learning how to identify treasury product solutions to benefit clients long-term planning
  • Collaborate with deal teams regarding business development strategy, including the identification of potential prospects
  • Developing an understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings
  • Conducting client and prospect research to support business development efforts

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
  • Pursuing a bachelors degree with an expected graduation date of June 2028 or earlier
  • Candidates must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework in business, finance, or accounting is a plus
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale is preferred
