About the Role:

As a Scrum Master / Project Manager you will lead one or more Scrum teams or manage medium to large technology projects across multiple cross-functional teams, for the Finance systems portfolio of Technology projects.

Responsibilities of the Role:

You will be responsible for ensuring Scrum Teams / Project Teams are high performing with respect to the selected execution methodology (Agile/Scrum, waterfall or other iterative methodologies). You will own all aspects of the project definition process including facilitating and capturing the business and technology inputs to develop business cases, reviewing with stakeholders, shepherding through the enterprise governance process, and selecting the execution methodology. You will also be called upon to be an active contributor in driving adoption and continuous improvement of Agile/Scrum across the organization.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of one or more Scrum or project teams

  • Act as the single voice to the business and technical community on behalf of the team

  • Facilitate release and sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

  • Drive continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement

  • Conduct sprint planning sessions and provide sprint commitment updates via status reporting and stakeholder reviews

  • Partner with the Product Owner to understand, organize, and prioritize the product backlog

  • Assist the development team and Product Owner in refining product functionality and backlog

  • Propose solutions and approaches to accelerate delivery and meet business objectives

  • Identify and remove impediments (risks and issues) impacting release and program-level teams

  • Communicate progress through weekly/monthly status reporting and governance checkpoints

  • Raise risks and issues to the Product Owner and key stakeholders

  • Shield the team from external influences not relevant to the current sprint

  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers, and Architects in a multi-team environment

  • Facilitate technical discussions with Architects and Developers to resolve challenges

  • Coordinate UAT testing with end users

  • Partner with the Delivery Manager to improve delivery practices (e.g., automated testing, TDD, CI)

  • Collaborate across the enterprise to standardize and document delivery best practices

  • Create and oversee project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestones

Requirements of the Role:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where production releases occur in 2-4 week durations

  • Good exposure to sizing techniques used in agile process

  • Ability to improve team maturity levels in understanding process and increasing productivity in terms of velocity

  • Familiar with knowledge management tools such as Sharepoint, Confluence etc.

Bonus Points:

  • Scrum Master and Scaled Agile Framework certifications are a plus

The salary range for this position in Charlottetown is $65,000- $75,000 CAD/year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location
