The Mission
TheSeniorData ProtectionCoordinatoris responsibleforcoordinatinganddeliveringday-to-day data protection services to entities within the ING Group. TheSeniorData ProtectionCoordinatorwill bepartof aglobalteam of40+ experts,working closely with theGlobalLeadforData ProtectionServices,bothglobal and localData Protectionteams,global andlocalDPO teamsenabling thestrategic design,implementationand monitoringof data protection activitieswithinthe Group.
Your day to day:
Daily activities include collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to:
Drive the implementation of the GDPR and other relevant legislation, throughleading thedesign& implementationofcomplexdata protectionprocesses,data protection tooling, aswellasdataprotectionpolicies,proceduresandcontrolsfacilitatinganE2Eenterprisedata protectionrisk management process withinING;
Engage withthe services teamsinternationalclientsspreadacrosscontinents-EU,US,ASIA;
Provide support and assistance on data protection matters forinternational clientsonthe entirespectrum of data protection topicsmapping of personal data, performing of relevant assessments(DPIA,LIA, TIAetc.),databreach management,data subjects right management,3rdparty contracting & monitoring,privacy by design,storagelimitationetc.
Drive theinnovationprocessenhancementactivitiesas well asclientexpansionactivities,activelyparticipatinginthe development ofthe data protection services strategy(liaisewithgloballeads,activelyparticipateinglobal decision forumstorepresentthe teams strategy andinterestsbyenhancing theoverallbusiness value);
Takeon AI Actregulatory compliance related dutiesthroughmapping,classifyingandassessingAIusecases(e.g.,inventory, performance ofFRIAas well asotherrelevant assessments);
Offerassistancefor theregulartestingexercises, as well asQuality Assurance&Audit missions;
Creating awareness and deliver trainings on data protection compliance;
Prepare and report ondata protectionrelated metrics and other activity reports and presentations to Group and local stakeholders and bodies in caserequired;
Lead initiatives end-to-end, from problem definition and solution design through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement, while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations;
Think strategically, transforming regulatory requirements into scalable business solutions, challenging existing approaches, and developing recommendations that stand up to senior stakeholder scrutiny;
Act as a trusted advisor, influencing and aligning stakeholders across functions, geographies, and management levels,facilitatingconsensus, and driving outcomes even in complex environments;
Drive innovation and service evolution,identifyingopportunities for automation, efficiency, improved client experience, and new service capabilities that enhance organizational maturity and scalability;
Operate with a global mindset, understanding how local decisions influence broader organizationalobjectivesand aligning priorities with enterprise-wide goals.
What you bring to the team
Bachelors degree with approx.5years of professional experience in the control/ audit/ consultancy services/ compliance/ legal field connected to the data protection area, preferably in a similar business environment (banking/IT);
Knowledge of the national and European data protection laws and practices, knowledge of the business sector, understand the processing operations,technologiesand data security;
Good understanding of general banking environment, governance structure, and banking products,servicesand operational flows;
Good stakeholder management skills;
Knowledge of data governance, data quality and data ethics is a plus;
Legal background and relevant data protection qualifications are a plus: CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT,AIGP;
Ability to develop working processes that provide structure and discipline;
Experienced user of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel and Power Point area must);
Very goodorganizing skills, team player withstrong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, problem solving oriented,logicaland open-minded, ability to work independently;
English (writing, speaking) advanced.
