ING Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA) Internship (Acquisition Finance / Loan Syndicate) - Amsterdam (full time)

Intern CMA
Opportunity to join a 6-month internship at INGs Capital Markets & Advisory team, within either Acquisition Finance or Loan Syndicate/Loan Sales, to gain experience in a professional deal-driven environment and support the execution of live deals and other key initiatives.
Acquisition Finance (AF)
Part of a global team of 100+ professionals across ten locations in EMEA, USA and APAC, the AF NL & DACH team originates and executes leveraged transactions for financial sponsor-owned clients located in the Benelux and DACH, with >25m EBITDA. ING AF is consistently ranked among the top-10 EMEA / Benelux leveraged finance banks.
You will regularly work alongside Capital Markets teams (e.g. High Yield Debt Capital Markets and Loan Syndicate) to structure and underwrite leveraged loan and high-yield bond solutions, and will also have the opportunity to work with other teams across the Wholesale Bank including Ratings Advisory, Corporate Finance, and Risk Management.
As intern you will be working in a diversified team (+20 professionals) and take-on the responsibilities of an Analyst, including:
- Contribute to the preparation and processing of internal credit applications, including detailed financial (incl. financial modelling), business and market analyses;
- Contribute to the preparation of pitch books and other marketing materials;
- Monitor market developments and identify opportunities;
- Support the AF portfolio team in managing the existing portfolio of AF transactions (e.g. process clients amendment, extension and waiver requests); and
- Assist to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Loan Syndication / Loan Sales (LS)
Gain hands-on experience in the loan markets across EMEA, working on high-impact transactions covering Project Finance, Trade & Commodity Finance, and Corporate and Financial Institutions related financing.
As an intern, you'll support leading the underwriting and coordination of syndicated loan transactions for top-tier corporates, private equity firms, and infrastructure investors while helping distribute deals to banks, insurers, pension funds, and investment managers. You'll contribute to major acquisitions and strategic financings while learning from seasoned professionals in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Ranked as a top-5 Bookrunner in EMEA, ING offers a unique opportunity to develop analytical, communication, and teamwork skills while building a strong foundation in capital markets.
As intern you will be working in a diversified team (+30 professionals) and take-on the responsibilities of an Analyst, including:
- Monitor loan market dynamics and help prepare insightful market updates
- Conduct investor and comparable analyses to support pricing and positioning
- Prepare pitch books and put your insights into client presentations
- Prepare syndication strategies and advice for internal and external stakeholders
- Work on live transactions and contribute throughout the syndication process, from launch to closing

Essential requirements
- Youre available for a 6-month internship on a full-time basis, however, candidates with a shorter availability will also be considered (minimum of 4 months)
- Youre currently pursuing an University degree, (Bachelor or Master degree) and already living in the Netherlands
- During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university
- Prior experience through internships is of added-value but not a pre-requisite
