What does Trade Finance Product Management team do?

Owns a product or product range and is responsible for the profit and loss of the assigned product(s) as well as ensuring the product(s) remain within a given risk appetite.

Furthermore, it is responsible for optimizing the commercial performance by analyzing market and customer data, formulating long-term strategic views on the product proposition, translating those to requirements for product developments and maximizing business value by commercializing the enhanced proposition in alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

What would you be doing?

The intern supports the trade finance product management team in developing, managing, and enhancing trade finance solutions. This includes exposure to products like letters of credit, guarantees, supply chain finance, and working capital solutions. The role bridges product strategy, operational processes, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Support & Development

    • Assist in designing and refining trade finance products and services.

    • Help prepare product documentation, training materials, and presentations.

  • Market & Client Analysis

    • Conduct research on market trends, competitor offerings, and client requirements.

    • Analyze customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Operational & Compliance Tasks

    • Support first-level checks for compliance with credit and regulatory standards.

    • Help maintain accurate records and reporting tools for trade finance transactions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with front office, operations, and risk teams to ensure smooth product delivery.

    • Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions on product rollout and enhancements.

  • Administrative & Project Work

    • Update Excel trackers, prepare reports, and assist in project coordination.

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship

  • Education: Typically pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields.
