In our Legal Department, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters, from litigation and legal research to regulatory and operational activities.

Your day to day

  Legal research on various topics, including identifying the applicable legal framework, relevant case law, and legal doctrine.

  Monitoring and analyzing legislative developments and amendments.

  Handling legal matters of lower complexity, upon request and under the supervision of managers or another senior team member, such as:

  • Collecting, consolidating, and summarizing information regarding various (pre)litigation matters involving ING and, where appropriate, coordinating the outsourcing of cases to external legal counsel.

  • Drafting and submitting responses, pleadings, and other legal documents in cases involving ING.

  • Providing legal opinions and responses on matters related to garnishments, enforcement proceedings, and KYC & AML requirements.

  Other responsibilities, including:

  • Receiving, registering, and distributing Legal Department correspondence.

  • Maintaining records of all cases involving ING, including their current status, agreed and paid legal fees, court costs, and any other amounts that ING is required to pay or recover in connection with such proceedings.

  • Initiating the necessary steps to recover amounts awarded to ING as court costs or under any other legal title.

  • Preparing reports and presentations.

  • Managing the payment process for Legal Department expenses.

What you bring to the team

  • A Bachelor's degree in Law.

  • Strong written and spoken English skills.

  • An analytical mindset and the ability to work with complex information.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Attention to detail and a structured way of working.

  • Curiosity, proactivity, and a collaborative approach.
