The Role

As a UX research intern at ING, youll help improve the experience of our digital products by learning directly from users. Youll work with experienced UX researchers, designers and product teams to understand customer needs and translate insights into better experiences.
You will use your design skills to quickly turn customer problems into improvement proposals that make our customers happy! Together with your colleagues, you will shape and simplify new and existing solutions into innovative and meaningful experiences.

What youll do

  • help prepare research plans, discussion guides and test setups
  • analyse findings and translate them into clear insights and recommendations
  • collaborate with designers and product teams to ensure research is applied
  • contribute to our research repository and documentation

What youll learn

  • how to design and run UX research in a large organisation
  • how to connect research insights to product decisions
  • how to work within a cross-functional team (design, product, business)
  • how to communicate insights clearly and effectively

Who you are

  • you are currently enrolled in a relevant study (e.g. cmd, psychology, hci, design, behavioural science) and need to take a 20 week collaboration internship as part of your curriculum
  • you are fulltime (36 hours per week) available from September 2026 until end of January 2027
  • you have an interest in UX research and improving digital experiences
  • you are curious, proactive and open to feedback
  • you can structure your thinking and communicate clearly
  • you are comfortable working in English

What we offer

  • a 6-month internship within the ING design organisation
  • mentorship from experienced UX researchers
  • the opportunity to work on real products used by millions of customers
  • a collaborative and learning-driven environment

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. Youll do a lot and learn a lot not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

Youll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance
  • Your own work laptop
  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation
  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities
  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues
