Full Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you'll join our Retail Banking team, where data plays a critical role in improving customer experiences, optimizing business processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of analytics and reporting solutions, from sourcing and transforming data to building reports, dashboards, and data models. Working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams, you'll help deliver insights that create measurable business value.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions that support business performance and decision-making
  • Gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data and reporting solutions
  • Extract, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources
  • Design and implement data handling processes, including ingestion, transformation, modelling, and storage
  • Build dashboards and reporting solutions using Cognos and Power BI
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Present insights and recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across reporting assets
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver high-impact analytical solutions

What We're Looking For

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in a data-related role
  • Expertise in ETL technologies such as IBM DataStage or similar data integration tools
  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS)
  • Experience handling both structured and unstructured data
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing data handling processes, including data ingestion, data transformation, data modelling, and data storage.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data quality, and business intelligence concepts
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using Cognos and Power BI
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset
  • Flexible and willing to learn new ETL and data integration technologies
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline

Nice to Have

  • Experience within banking, financial services, or highly regulated industries
  • Experience working with additional ETL or data integration technologies
  • Exposure to predictive analytics and statistical modelling
  • Knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives through data and analytics
  • Experience presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders
