The team

The UK Energy team at ING is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing financing solutions for clients across the energy sector. The team supports both traditional energy infrastructure and the transition to lowcarbon technologies, with coverage spanning renewables, power, hydrocarbons, and emerging energy solutions.

Acting as a core relationship team for energy clients, the team ensures delivery to Energy clients of the full suite of INGs capabilities, including lending, capital markets, financial markets and treasury products (transaction services, working capital and trade finance). It operates as part of a global Energy platform, working closely with international teams and integrating financial, technical and structuring expertise to deliver complex transactions across the full corporate lifecycle.

The team is responsible for maintaining and growing the existing UK book including assisting in portfolio management, Know Your Customer requirements and internal administrative tasks.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Client coverage and relationship management: Maintain and develop relationships with UK domiciled clients or international clients with operations in the UK, acting as a primary point of contact and coordinating crossproduct engagement across the bank.

  • Origination and execution of transactions: Identify and deliver banking opportunities, including the full suite of ING products as appropriate to the client.

  • Sector coverage and market insight: Develop and maintain expertise across key energy subsectors, including renewables, conventional energy, and new technologies such as hydrogen, CCUS, and energy storage.

  • Internal stakeholder coordination: Assist coordination across internal teams (including products, Risk, Legal and Compliance) to originate and execute transactions, ensuring alignment and efficient decisionmaking across stakeholders.

  • KYC and regulatory compliance: Oversee and coordinate KYC processes, ensuring client onboarding and transactions comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and liaise with Compliance teams to resolve issues.

How to Succeed

  • 23 years experience in a Front Office banking role

  • Exposure to Energy and/or Infrastructure preferred

  • Good understanding of corporate banking products and interest in the energy sector

  • Familiarity with bank product offerings and KYC processes

  • Client-focused with a relationship-driven approach

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills

  • Clear, confident communication

Qualifications & Education
