Full Job Description

Analyst Structured Lending at ING Business Banking NL (Amsterdam)

Do you want to work on complex financing challenges for our MidCorporate clients? Do you have the analytical and communication skills to contribute to successful deals?

As an Analyst in Structured Lending Business Banking, you serve MidCorporate clients with the optimum financing structure based on a thorough analysis. As an Analyst, you are a substantive and commercial expert involved in complex financing arrangements, including acquisitions and large investment processes.

Structured Lending

Within Structured Lending, we always aim to deliver the optimal financing structure to support our clients strategically in their growth plans and sustainable ambitions. Financing requests relate to organic growth, strategic acquisitions (M&A) a.o. in relation to buy-and-build strategies, investment plans, refinancing's and restructurings.

Our clients are mainly family-owned businesses including family funds, largely based in the Netherlands, and active internationally across different industries. Every client and every transaction is different, which guarantees a dynamic and diverse working environment.

Role and responsibilities

You will work in small deal teams in a transaction environment together with experienced deal captains and other specialists. You will support transactions throughout the full process, from origination to documentation and closing.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing business models, sector trends and financial performance
  • Building financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses
  • Structuring financing solutions tailored to client needs
  • Preparing indicative and committed proposals for clients
  • Supporting the preparation of credit applications, including analysis of ratings, margins and pricing
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as relationship management, Risk, Lease, Commercial Finance, Corporate Investments and Legal
  • Coordinating with external parties such as debt advisors, lawyers, management teams, (senior) debt funds and other banks

The relatively short-cycle nature of the transactions and the departments sector-wide focus create a lot of dynamism and variety in your job.

Your work environment

As a Structured Lending Analyst, you will be part of a self-managing team of 18 ambitious specialists based at INGs head office in Amsterdam. With your personal, honest and open approach, you contribute to support our clients with their complex financing needs in the best possible way.

Working within our team and ING Business Banking NL means working in a culture where ownership, collaboration in multidisciplinary teams, trust in colleagues and putting the teams interests first are key. We aim to provide the best possible service and to exceed our clients expectations.

We work in a hybrid model with fixed team days in the Amsterdam office, while also offering the opportunity to work from home.

In summary, we offer you

  • A challenging and dynamic working environment with a team of 18 ambitious specialists
  • The opportunity to develop yourself in a transaction-driven and entrepreneurial environment
  • Exposure to complex financing structures and high-impact client transactions
  • Room for personal growth and professional development within ING
  • A culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement

How to succeed?

You make the difference with your enthusiasm, analytical skills, commercial mindset and affinity with financial challenges. You are proactive, resilient and able to perform well in a dynamic environment. In addition, you bring:

  • A university degree
  • 02 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry
  • Preferably experience with collecting and assessing client information, analysing due diligence reports, performing business and financial analyses, and preparing credit applications
  • Ideally, knowledge of Asset Based Financing, Financial Markets products and alternative financing solutions such as direct lending and mezzanine finance
  • Preferably experience in structuring transactions together with managing multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • An excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written

Development and career opportunities

At ING, we believe it is essential to have the right people to achieve sustainable growth. That is why we invest in your personal and professional development and offer a wide range of opportunities to realize your ambitions.

At the same time, we expect you to take ownership of your development:  to stay up to date with developments in your field, to reflect critically on your own performance and to bring fresh ideas to the challenges we face as a team and as ING Business Banking NL.
