Full Job Description

IMC is deepening its presence in Chinese financial markets broadening broker relationships, expanding market access, and building the operational infrastructure that underpins our trading business in the region. We are looking for a Corporate Development Manager (CDM), based in Sydney or Hong Kong, to act as IMCs single point of contact for day-to-day interactions with Chinese exchanges, brokers, technology providers and other partners, with a specific focus on Technology.

Working in close collaboration with senior management and the overall broker relationship owner, you will represent IMC externally, collect and triage requirements from IMC's technical, operational and legal teams, and channel them into clear, well-managed conversations with external partners. In doing so, you help secure the reliable market access and infrastructure that underpin IMC's edge in China.

This is a highly cross-functional role, sitting at the intersection of trading, technology, legal, risk, compliance and other operations team.

Your Core Responsibilities: 

  • Act as IMCs single point of contact for day-to-day interactions with Chinese exchanges, brokers, technology providers such as data centers and telecommunication firms, and other vendors, ensuring every incoming and outgoing request is managed and followed up
  • Collect and triage requirements from internal technical (development, network, infra), legal, compliance and other Ops teams, translating them into clear asks for external partners
  • Represent IMC externally on these topics and drive each through to closure. Examples include market data line orders and processes, rack space negotiations with data centers and telcos, and exchange and vendor documentation
  • Build and maintain trusted working relationships with counterparts across Chinese exchanges, brokers, technology providers and other partners
  • Proactively identify opportunities for IMC to improve IMCs infrastructure and network setup, in close collaboration with our trading, infrastructure, networking and development teams

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin is a must
  • 5+ years of experience in one of the following: an international or local financial institution (e.g. bank, (prime) broker or exchange) with significant exposure to trading technology; corporate development within a proprietary trading firm with significant exposure to technology; or a technology provider to trading firms with a solid understanding of physical infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of technology and physical infrastructure used by global trading firms
  • Prior working experience related to Chinese financial markets is highly preferred
  • Based in Sydney or Hong Kong; if Hong Kong, willingness to travel to Sydney regularly, including for onboarding
  • Comfortable representing the firm externally and building trusted relationships with counterparts at exchanges, brokers and vendors at all levels
  • Strong sense of ownership able to track multiple workstreams to closure and know when to escalate
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and commercially minded, comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, while always maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity
