Functional Description: Finance teams provide the bank with internal and external financial reporting, forecasting, controls oversight, and stress testing expertise. Specialist areas also manage HSBCs worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts.

People Responsibility: N

Reports To: Head of Finance

Role Purpose

This role acts as the Accounting Officer (authorised signatory for financial statements), accountable for the accurate and timely production of key financial and tax reports, and for ensuring day-to-day finance operations are completed on time and compliance the require standard.

Job Contents

  • Lead month-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely management reporting, financial reporting, and tax filings.
  • Maintain and strengthen financial controls and governance, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements;
  • Support internal/external audits and remediation.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and support projects as required;
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification / Licence Requirements

  • Licensed Senior Securities Specialist
  • Passed Capital Adequacy Ratio Examination (available after onboarding)
  • Familiarity with securities finance and related operations
  • 7+ years of experience in the financial services or securities sector
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
