We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Marketing Manager, Retail Products, Hong Kong Marketing

HSBC are accelerating plans to transform, building on agility, innovation and customer centricity as we become a bank fit for the future. This role is part of the Global Marketing function. The function focuses on understanding present and future customer needs, identification of market opportunities, development and execution of marketing strategies, and programmes. The ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC brand equity and contribute to customer growth, revenue growth, increase customer value and satisfaction in order to meet agreed objectives and key results.

  1. The primary accountability of this role is to develop marketing strategies, plans and programmes that deliver customer and business outcomes. This includes managing, supporting and developing the WPB marketing strategy and implementing marketing programmes in support of the local marketing objectives. Key products include credit card, loans, and mortgage.
  2. Geographical Remit: Local market.
  3. The role holder is accountable to the team lead of Mass Segment Marketing, WPB and charged with supporting the business team in achieving their vision and objectives through marketing activity.
  4. This role is part of the Global Marketing function and is focused on supporting the strategic and revenue growth priorities of Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB).

The role holder must support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behavior, actions and decision making.

Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders

  1. Manage the WPB marketing plan as well as providing overall support on the WPB marketing strategy and programmes.
  2. Accountable for the liaison with the local market WPB business team, on allocation and agreement of the scope and marketing spend.
  3. Work with local market WPB business team and seek their buy-in and support on the planned initiatives including budget spends.
  4. Develop and articulate a deep understanding of customer needs through external research and internal data for WPB.
  5. Work closely with business and Marketing partners to develop integrated Marketing strategies
  6. Ownership of clearly developed Business Briefs and Marketing Briefs.
  7. Identify and work with key stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure that strategies and solutions will be effectively delivered and measured by all areas of the business.
  8. Identify and ensure implementation of the assigned marketing strategies and plans.
  9. Manage agency partners across social, digital, creative and media.
  10. Be a customer champion and adopt agile ways of working.

KPIs will include, and not restricted to

  • Execution of Marketing Programmes
  • Customer Number Growth
  • Market/wallet share for the strategic product or solution area
  • Improved Customer Experience (CX) outcomes. [NPS/ CSAT]
  • Brand Equity Growth

Leadership & Teamwork

  1. Lead on strategic areas assigned within the Marketing team, ensuring that the appropriate level of Marketing support is provided to these solution sets.
  2. Act as a marketing and market consultant for WPB.
  3. Lead and leverage appropriate resources to deliver Marketing plans and activities.
  4. Champion commerciality across marketing, including providing access to learning opportunities around key strategic initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with the Hub specialist teams (Performance/Planning, Insight, Brand, Digital Acquisition and Events) to build strategic, client-centric solutions across the business.
  6. Encourage and enable constructive cross-country and cross-business collaboration.
  7. Demonstrate Customer Centricity by thinking and acting beyond product sales.
  8. Adopt and champion the agile ways of working in marketing and participate in business value streams/ cross-functional teams.
  9. Demonstrate and champion a speak-up culture by challenging actions and behaviors that are not consistent with HSBC's policies and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.

Functional Knowledge

  1. Modern Marketing professional with understanding of latest developments in the marketing and media world.
  2. Have depth of both classical and contemporary channels and a range of Marketing Strategy and Communications planning experience, including demonstrable success in developing and delivering strategic marketing plans and multi-channel high profile marketing communications programmes
  3. Have a penchant for learning
  4. Understand the use of data and analytics in deriving customer value
  5. Be passionate about the customer and be obsessed with customer outcomes
  6. Degree level qualification in marketing and/or business studies preferred.
  7. 10 years broad based business experience within a Financial Service based institution, or an innovative customer/service based institution.
  8. Demonstrating ability to identify strategic needs based solutions both now and in the future.
  9. Evidence of team leadership attributes. Experience and evidence of working within teams over multiple sites in a highly matrixed organization.
  10. Proven understanding of customer insights and their role in marketing strategy development and delivery as well as marketing communications development.
  11. Able to influence at senior level to drive improvement. Proven ability to influence leadership teams.
  12. Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  13. Ability to think innovatively, shaping and communicating new concepts.
  14. Ability to bring key stakeholders and Functional colleagues with them as marketing strategies and plans are developed.
  15. Ability to distil complex business and customer environment into simple, strategically sound and insight led stories.
