We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Project Manager, Finance Transformation

In this role you will:

End-to-end delivery leadership

  • Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation, mobilisation, design, build, test, cutover, hypercare and closure), ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, cost and quality.
  • Develop and maintain integrated plans, workstream structure, resourcing approach, and delivery governance.
  • Manage dependencies across Finance, Technology, Data, Controls and Operations, ensuring delivery sequencing supports business readiness.

Finance transformation delivery

  • Deliver measurable outcomes within the Finance domain, with focus on one or more of: Financial Reporting transformation, Management Information (MI) improvements (timeliness, standardisation, accuracy), GL/SL implementation and complex ledger programmes, Finance process redesign and control uplift
  • Ensure business impacts (close, reconciliations, data quality, controls, operating model) are assessed, communicated and managed.

Systems, data and cloud enablement

  • Lead change involving Finance systems such as Oracle Fusion, TM1, Saracen and other global/regional/local Finance platforms, understanding the processes and data flows they support.
  • Apply knowledge of cloud services and how they are used within Finance solutions, partnering with Technology to deliver secure, resilient and supportable outcomes.
  • Drive pragmatic use of digital tools and system capabilities to simplify processes and improve efficiency.

Governance, risk and control

  • Run delivery governance (SteerCo, working groups, decision forums) with high-quality executive reporting, decision papers and clear actions.
  • Maintain robust delivery controls: RAID, change control, financial management, cutover planning, and delivery assurance.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and evidence is produced to meet audit/control expectations.

Stakeholder management and leadership

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Group; facilitate decision-making, influence outcomes, and manage conflict constructively.
  • Lead a matrix team (directly and/or indirectly), setting clear direction, standards and ways of working; contribute to development and retention of critical talent.

Benefits realization

  • Define, baseline and track quantifiable benefits (e.g., close acceleration, MI cycle time reduction, automation %, reduced manual adjustments, improved data quality and control effectiveness).
  • Ensure benefits are owned and sustained post-implementation.

To be successful you will need:

Essential

  • SME-level Project Management capability with experience delivering large-scale programmes and complex projects.
  • Demonstrable track record of successful delivery within the Finance domain with quantifiable business benefits, including experience in Financial Reporting, MI, GL/SL implementations and/or complex transformation programmes.
  • Strong experience across delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and tailored/hybrid approaches; ability to apply the right approach based on context.
  • Knowledge of cloud services and their application within Finance solutions.
  • Strong understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives; proven ability to work effectively across multiple locations and cultures.
  • Strong leadership capability in a large matrix organisation, including experience of developing and retaining critical talent.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with proven ability to influence decisions and manage conflict.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; confident communicator at all levels in a complex global environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong desire and proven ability to comprehend system complexity and leverage digital tools to identify solutions and opportunities.
