The Hong Kong Student Work Placement lasts 6 months and allows you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world banking environment, make meaningful contributions to our teams, and build the professional and personal skills youll need for your future career.

What youll do 

Youll gain hands-on exposure to real HSBC projects, develop workplace confidence and build skills like teamwork, communication, organisation and stakeholder interaction. Youll learn from experienced professionals and get valuable insight into how HSBC operates day-to-day. 

Across 6 months, youll: 

• Gain practical experience that complements your academic studies 

• Take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects 

• Apply both your behavioural skills and academic knowledge to create value for HSBC

For year 1 and 2 students, this is a chance to explore financial services and experience HSBC early in your academic journey. 

 
For penultimate year students, this placement is a valuable step before applying to join HSBC after graduation.
