Equity Trader

This role contributes to the identification of sales opportunities and maintenance of business relationships, focusing on specific customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to the identification of sales opportunities that address specific needs for clients and managing from identification to point of sale
  • Contribute to maintenance of business relationships with accounts in assigned area of responsibility
  • Assist the team in the efficient marketing of products to their client base and in achieving both Financial and Qualitative annual objectives to their client base
  • Share relevant market, customer and counter-party intelligence with colleagues in the HSBC network, in order that the Group derives maximum benefit from its networking potential
  • Support the day to day operations of the desk
  • Maintain complete records of client orders and execution
  • Provide the team management with required management information, in order to inform decision making
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure our conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Be a core element of the Group strategy to prevent financial crime (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions Controls
  • Ensure an efficient, high capacity risk management infrastructure that meets internal control standards and achieves the Vision of HSBC being the worlds leading international bank by connecting clients with opportunities
  • Understanding of the front to back control environment and the role needs to ensure the leadership tone and operational processes

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in related area
  • English proficiency is mandatory
  • Knowledge in trading equities in the local market
  • Figure 4 AMIB is a plus
