Full Job Description
HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking is a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Our sector-focused Banking relationship managers provide a single coverage point for multinational clients. With our global capabilities and footprint, vast expertise, and local knowledge, our Global Network Banking teams connect clients to the products and services that meet their international financial needs.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Associate.
In this role you will:
- Maximise customer value from a portfolio of international relationships and identify alignment opportunities with other product groups
- Formulate and implement intensive relationship management strategy to maintain and deepen customer loyalty
- Grow inbound revenue for the portfolio within GNB to new heights through new-to-bank acquisition and deepening product penetration for existing customers
- Drive corridor engagement with key stakeholders
- Identify business leads and opportunities from existing and new customers and contribute to business growth
- Be an ambassador for HSBC and develop the banks profile in the local community, with a particular focus on international business
- Implement Global Standards to the highest level of due diligence, to act as the First Line of Defense to guard against financial crime risks
- Initiate and work with business credit officers to come up with quality credit proposals and take the lead to secure approvals
- Be responsible for monitoring credit risks and taking timely actions to protect the bank from potential losses
- Take up functional responsibilities from time to time as assigned by Director/Team Head and contribute to the success of GNB business strategies
- Contribute to the development of knowledge in industries that are strategic to CIB/GNB long term growth
To be successful you will need:
- University graduate with at least 5 years of solid frontline experience in corporate banking
- Possess solid knowledge in banking products including Credit and Lending, Global Trade Solutions (GTS), Global Payments Solutions (GPS), Global Markets (GBM) and others
- Strong analytical and credit assessment skills, particularly with regard to more complex and structured facilities with an international dimension, able to put up quality credit packages and take the lead in securing credit and capital allocation approvals along with other application approvals from legal, tax and compliance as applicable.
- Knowledge of capital markets is a plus
- Dynamic and forward thinking with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to deliver compelling presentations
- Able to meet licensing requirements especially related to securities
- Fluent in English, fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese would be a plus
