Role purpose

Support senior Coverage Bankers in managing and growing corporate client relationships in Mexico by delivering high-quality analysis, credit support, and coordinated execution across lending and transaction banking solutions, with strong risk and conduct discipline.

Key responsibilities

  • Client coverage support: Prepare client briefings, meeting materials, call reports and follow-ups; maintain action logs, pipeline trackers and account planning content.
  • Origination & solutioning support: Contribute to pitches and client ideas across complex credit financings, working capital lending, trade & supply chain, cash management/liquidity, FX and rates (with Markets), and sustainable/transition finance (where applicable).
  • Credit & portfolio support: Assist with financial analysis, peer benchmarking, covenant/headroom monitoring, and scenario/sensitivity analysis (e.g., oil/power prices, FX, rates, input costs). Support drafting of credit applications, annual reviews and internal memos in line with governance.
  • Execution & coordination: Coordinate stakeholders across Product, Risk, Legal, Operations and onboarding/KYC teams; track approvals, documentation and timelines; maintain audit-ready files and version control.
  • Sector insight: Build knowledge of Mexico sector dynamics (commodity cycles, regulation, PPAs, capex cycles, seasonality in agro, supply chain/trade flows) and translate insights into client-relevant ideas.

Skills & capabilities

  • Strong accounting and corporate finance fundamentals; confident interpreting financial statements and cash flows.
  • Solid Excel skills (clean, auditable models; sensitivities/scenarios) and strong PowerPoint skills (clear, client-ready materials).
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail; able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Collaborative stakeholder management across teams and geographies.
  • Clear communication in Spanish and English.
  • Strong risk, control and conduct mindset; sound judgement and integrity.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
  • Typically 23 (up to 4) years of relevant experience in corporate banking, credit, transaction banking, project finance, or sector advisory.
  • Exposure to Energy/Power/Materials/Agro sectors and/or Mexican corporates preferred.

What success looks like

  • Senior bankers rely on you for accurate analysis and polished materials with minimal rework.
  • Credit and review deliverables are timely, well-structured and governance-aligned.
  • Transactions progress smoothly due to strong coordination and disciplined tracking.
  • You build credible sector knowledge and proactively contribute to client ideas.
