- Global Markets are embarking on creating a cross-asset class Middle Office organization supporting its Global Markets business
- The TPM Equities comprises of three functional layers; Desk Support, Control and Client Service and supports the three underlying product business units within the Equities business; Cash Equities, Prime Finance and Equity Derivatives.
- These are high risk (and highly manual) processes, involving direct access to primary trading systems and strong interaction with the business and customers including strategic clients, large corporate, broker dealers and investments funds.
The breath of the TPM Desk Equities function range from Complex Trade Booking, Data Enrichment & Repair, Trade Lifecycle Events, Trades controls and Corporate Action Management, Query Resolution and Static & Market Data Management
What youll do:
- Complex trade bookings, verification, and control monitoring of exception trade flow.
- Trade lifecycle management including corporate action processing, trigger monitoring and expiry monitoring.
- Trade capture completeness and accuracy i.e. ensure life cycle bookings (fixing, rollover, corporate action, termination, expiry) are done by the daily auto-validation deadline, making sure inter-entity and intra-entity back-to-back trades are booked correctly, and short positions are covered by liaising with the relevant desks.
- T-Zero trade exceptions and trade matching, by coordinating with brokers, clearers, desks to resolve T-Zero breaks.
- Assessing and managing risk from the daily activity of the Equities Trading desk.
- Exception, reconciliation, and control oversight of complex business flows.
- Drive to improve operational robustness and risk reduction.
- Interact with Front Office Trading and Sales, Operation teams, Product Control and external counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies and escalation issues.
- Liaison with middle office control teams regarding reconciliation issues.
- Work closely with extended team based in Kuala Lumpur, Paris, New York, London and Hong Kong.
- Ability to apply judgment to operational situations in a fast-paced environment to drive progress.
- Identify potential financial risk to the bank and ensure proper resolution is achieved within the banks guidelines.
- Timely escalation when necessary for issues that may cause financial loss to the bank or that could affect client relationships.
- Ensure adequate support for effective management of KRIs, to minimize risk e.g. Nostro/Stock/inter-system breaks.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Demonstrate good understanding of the Equity business and products.
- Experience of working in a trade support role covering equity or debt securities is desirable but not essential.
- Relevant experience of dealing with Front Office stakeholders, preferably from a trading floor environment would be preferential.
- Proactive, confident and self-motivated with the ability to problem solve and work under pressure within a fast-paced environment.
- Awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.
- Ability to implement initiatives and work as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients/stakeholders
- Attention to detail and a hands-on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement.
- Understands escalation framework across all aspects of Operations, including day to day operational risks and systemic risks.
- Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the organization.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred.
- Understanding of Markets Operations is an added advantage.
- Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
- Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage.
