The Core Engineering builds and operates the platforms, applications, data solutions, models, and analytics that power critical processes for The Core divisions of the firm (e.g., Risk, responsible for the risk profile of firm activities; Controllers, responsible for the financial control and reporting obligations; Compliance, responsible for the firms compliance, regulatory, and reputational risks; Corporate Treasury, responsible for the firms liquidity, funding, balance sheet, etc.; and Human Capital Management, responsible for attracting, developing, and managing a global workforce). A centralized engineering structure in support of The Core enables a common platform model and operating framework that promotes consistent governance and scalable solutions, leveraging cloud, AI, and machine learning for innovation and efficiency. The Core Engineerings 2,000+ engineers and strats deliver engineering, data, analytics, and quantitative capabilities.

Metrics & Analytics Platforms, within The Core Engineering, is responsible for the measurement and management of the firms risk, capital, and liquidity for The Core functions. Within Metrics & Analytics Platforms unit, Financial Metrics Data Eng team builds best in class data solutions.

 

Job Description

The Financial Metrics Data Engineering team is looking for world-class Data Engineers to work closely with various teams to:

  • Deliver metric-specific enriched data products for calculations and ontologies to enable agentic metric explainability and insights.
  • Build efficient platforms and common data models for limit management and resource allocation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build Scalable Data Solutions: Build scalable, high-performance data solutions for all teams across the metrics platform.
  • Standardize Strategic Data Flows: Work with teams across the firm to build strategic data pipelines, establishing a standard, consistent architecture across different metrics and calculations within the metrics platform organization.
  • Implement Next-Generation Architecture: Contribute to the design and execution of our next-generation architecture with an AI-driven, cloud-first mindsetensuring maximum resiliency, scalability, and alignment with the firms long-term strategic growth.
  • Adhere to Engineering Excellence: Follow modern SDLC practices, write robust unit tests, and participate in active code reviews to maintain high code quality.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building, modeling, and scaling enterprise-level, business-critical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational/non-relational database design.
  • Strong hands-on experience with backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
  • Strong experience working with modern, scalable SDLC practices (CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and code reviews).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and building high-availability patterns.
  • Experience implementing or integrating AI-enabled tools, LLM-based platforms, or automated agentic solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong appetite and openness to dive into proprietary systems, understand their inner workings, and strategically uplift them.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with financial data.
  • Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Flink) or modern cloud data warehouses.
