Role Overview 

As an Associate within the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) team in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in developing and strengthening client relationships, participating on advisory teams, and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. You will work closely with senior bankers to cover financial institutionsincluding banks, insurance companies, asset managers, specialty finance, and financial technology (FinTech) firmsacross Singapore and the broader Southeast Asia region.

This role requires strong corporate finance fundamentals, robust analytical capabilities, and a keen interest in learning the unique dynamics of the financial services sector. 
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Transaction Execution: Play an active role in the day-to-day execution of M&A, equity, and debt transactions for financial institutions, including managing due diligence processes, preparing marketing and valuation materials, and coordinating with external  advisors.
  • Client Pitching & Presentation: Assist the team in preparing pitch materials and industry analyses across different financial services sectors to support client coverage and business development. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-4 years of relevant investment banking, corporate finance, or M&A advisory experience.
  • Technical Skills: Financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, with high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience executing FIG transactions within the Southeast Asia region.
  • Understanding of financial institution balance sheets, regulatory capital requirements, and valuation methodologies.
