About Our Roles in GBM Compliance

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firms culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firms enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firms second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firms compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firms responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape. 

The role of Global Markets Compliance Officer is to articulate and maintain the standards of conduct required of the Firms businesses as well as the laws, regulations and policies governing these businesses in order to assist the Firm in avoiding economic, regulatory and legal liability and risk to reputation. Global Markets Compliance (based on the trading floor) provides coverage support to the Global Markets Divisions business units in Singapore, including Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Commodities. The role also works closely with other Firm control functions including Legal, Finance, Operations and Engineering. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing advice on transactions, new products and business initiatives
  • Developing policies, procedures and best practices for business units
  • Supporting regulatory liaison with the MAS and SGX
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant regulatory/rule changes including the analysis and implementation of such regulatory/rule changes
  • Participating in regulatory inspections and audits  

 Qualifications 

  • Prior compliance, legal, accounting or business (or other relevant) experience involving the securities or financial businesses preferred
  • Familiar with Singapore securities or financial markets
  • Effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure
