Business Segment and Role Overview

The Electronic Futures Trading team are responsible for the acquisition and ongoing client relationship management of clients who utilize our electronic trading solutions. 

The team form the central hub for all electronic futures trading activity and provide supervisory and consulting services to all connected clients, advising on Algo usage and execution performance as well as managing the day-to-day market risk of connected clients.

The teams acquisition responsibilities involve pitching our electronic execution offering ranging from algorithms and low latency solutions to market structure and Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) to win new business and expand on existing client relationships.  

 

Key differentiators include our enhanced technology stack, advanced algorithm platform and continued investment and evolution of our electronic trading product. 

The Electronic Trading team educates a broad range of clients ranging from hedge funds, institutional money managers and corporates on the electronic trading landscape.  The role available in our Paris office sits within Futures Sales Trading, working closely with the Futures Execution desks as well as the Futures Clearing Sales team to pitch and manage our holistic futures offering across revenue streams.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Electronic Trading Coverage and consultancy for the GSET Futures client base.

  • Act as primary electronic relationship owner to retain and grow market share with key European clients. 

  • A focus on new business acquisition with continental European business. 

  • Partner with Futures Sales and voice execution teams to pitch our electronic offering to existing and new client prospects.

  • Manage daily electronic order flow, responding to connectivity issues, outages, exchange disconnects and working with futures tech, vendors and exchanges to resolve.

  • Develop a deep technical knowledge and understanding of our futures algorithm suite and TCA offering to supervise and advise clients on optimal use of our execution tools.

  • Consult with clients and our strategists to help devise and implement custom algorithmic solutions based on the required trading strategy and objectives.

  • Develop close relationships with clients to ensure their experience with the product is positive and value added to their business.

  • Contribute to product marketing material and engage in proactive marketing campaigns to new and existing clients.

  • Act as a primary touchpoint for internal / external auditors and GS Compliance to ensure trading activity is fully aligned with European financial regulations

  • Partner with Compliance  and Control functions to support regulatory reviews, audits and on-going enhancements to the electronic trading control framework

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in electronic trading and markets.  Electronic futures is required, though other asset classes would be of interest (Equity, FX, Rates).

  • Understanding of trading algorithms, platforms and connectivity solutions. 

  • Experience in a trading solutions, coverage, sales or trading role.

  • Ability to work well with others and interact with sales, sales-traders, clients, strategists, technology teams and 3rd party vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Project Management skills in order to manage a client onboarding pipeline.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
