Full Job Description
Job Duties: Associate, Systems Engineering with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Dallas, Texas. Develop expertise across all Engineering, including datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems, databases, communications, market data and software languages. Contribute to the design and development of the firms computer and data infrastructure by identifying internal hardware and implementing public and private cloud-based solutions to provide seamless on-demand scaling of the firm's applications. Assist in the creation of automated testing processes, standards, solutions and tools to ensure smooth operation of the firms businesses. Apply data mining and machine learning techniques to identify and react to problems in the firms infrastructure and platforms. Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues by documenting repetitive error resolutions and minimizing operational errors. Assist in developing and monitoring reports to track and manage application health and support application service performance. Assist in monitoring risk in the production environment and change management processes. Help to improve application stability and performance by automating failures using machine learning techniques and analyzing discrepancies and trends. Review and assess production incidents and communicate with users, applications owners, vendors, and internal and external stakeholders. Develop sustainable systems and services through automation, performance tuning and database queries. Assist with business continuity planning and disaster recovery and plan appropriate contingency plans.
Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related fields such as Mechanical or Electronic Engineering and two (2) years of experience in job offered or related role. Prior employment must include two (2) years of experience with: performance tuning and troubleshooting application issues using code debugging, or log analysis; software development using Windows and UNIX operating systems, including shell scripting; working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, prioritization, coding testing, release, and support; monitoring cloud systems performance, performing tuning, and diagnosing potential performance issues by analyzing query execution plans and implementing disaster recovery solutions; performing systems management for Windows platforms such as Microsoft Configuration Manager or comparable enterprise systems management products; and working with public Cloud providers such as Azure, AWS and developing Infrastructure as Code(IaC) scripts for resources deployments.
