Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Health Coordinator to join the team at Oaky Creek Coal.

This is a pivotal role where you will influence and enhance the health, wellbeing, and safety of our workforce. You will play a key part in shaping proactive health strategies, supporting injured workers, and ensuring best-practice occupational hygiene standards across the operation.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Championing the health and wellbeing of our workforce through proactive support and engagement
  • Leading injury management, return-to-work programs, and workers compensation processes with care and professionalism
  • Developing and coordinating programs and projects that promote injury prevention, fitness for work, and overall wellbeing
  • Conducting occupational hygiene monitoring, sampling and exposure assessments
  • Coordinating the occupational hygiene program, monitoring, sampling, and exposure assessments
  • Analysing data to inform risk-based decision making and continuous improvement
  • Developing and maintaining Health & Hygiene Management Plans and Health Risk Assessments
  • Identifying and implementing effective controls for occupational health hazards
  • Overseeing and managing compliance with the Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme
  • Acting as a key liaison between site, the Appointed Medical Advisor, and external health professionals

About you:

You are a motivated and purpose-driven professional who is passionate about improving workplace health outcomes. You bring both technical expertise and a genuine commitment to people.

Key requirements of the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene, or a related field
  • A Return-to-Work Coordinator Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within an underground mining environment
  • Strong expertise in injury management, occupational rehabilitation, and workers compensation
  • Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • High attention to detail, particularly in reporting and compliance
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels.
