About the Role

Reporting to the Manager - Workforce Governance, Performance & Reward, the Senior Advisor - Talent, Performance & Capability role is responsible for developing and continuously improving talent, recruitment and leadership capability frameworks, processes and initiatives across Glencore Metals Australia (GMA).

Working closely with operational HR teams and leaders, the role provides specialist expertise and practical guidance to strengthen workforce capability, improve recruitment outcomes, enhance leadership effectiveness, and support consistent talent and succession practices across the Metals portfolio.

The role contributes to workforce planning and capability initiatives that support operational performance and long-term workforce sustainability. 

The role operates as the regional subject matter expert for talent, performance and workforce capability, establishing fit-for-purpose frameworks, governance and tools that support operational execution across assets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously improve talent, recruitment and workforce capability frameworks and initiatives aligned to the Metals People Strategy.
  • Partner with HR teams and operational leaders to identify workforce capability needs and develop practical solutions to address skill gaps and workforce risks.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on talent, recruitment, succession and workforce capability practices across GMA.
  • Develop and maintain recruitment governance, reporting, performance metrics and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance talent and succession frameworks, including approaches for identification and development of emerging and high-potential talent.
  • Establish leadership capability initiatives and programs aligned to operational requirements and leadership expectations.
  • Support early career, graduate and talent pipeline programs to strengthen long-term workforce capability across the Metals portfolio.
  • Prepare and analyse workforce insights, reporting and talent metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop practical processes, tools and governance materials that support consistent operational application across assets.
  • Build effective working relationships with operational leaders, HR teams and key stakeholders across the business.


About You

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, psychology or related discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent management, workforce capability, recruitment, organisational development or related HR disciplines within a complex operational environment.
  • Experience supporting talent, recruitment or workforce capability initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across operational and corporate environments.
  • Experience working with workforce reporting, talent metrics or HR systems and processes.
  • Practical problem-solving capability and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to provide specialist advice and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across talent and workforce capability practices.
