You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering detailed designs of mineral processing and smelting plants and equipment, including engineering drawings, documentation, manuals, procurement plans and QA plans.
  • Coordinating a small team of designers across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Completing the plant/equipment design required for multiple projects.
  • Developing project estimates and budgets.
  • Ensuring designs are optimised for performance, cost, and technical integrity during marketing and proposal stages.
  • Identify opportunities for innovative design solutions and continuous improvement.
  • Working with vendors, suppliers, and fabricators to address QA requirements, inspections, and factory acceptance testing

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Australian citizenship/residency.
  • Tertiary qualification/s in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant Australian post-grad experience, preferably in the design of mineral processing or smelting equipment.
  • Be eligible to apply for Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status in the next 2 3 years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • The ability to deliver scheduled tasks efficiently and work proactively within a small team environment.
  • A willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Experience in plant design, particularly involving hydraulic and slurry system design, would be advantageous.

Why you should choose us:

  • End of year performance bonus scheme
  • Above industry standard superannuation
  • External Education Assistance Program
  • GTs Culture Program (2-day, Glencore Technology only, course that aims to share our culture as quickly as possible and focuses on fostering effective communication)
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Preferred health providers offering corporate discounts.
  • Car leasing opportunities
