The role in a nutshell

We are on a global transformation journey, upgrading our financial planning processes and implementing Anaplan across our international markets. With successful rollouts already completed in two markets, and more markets on the immediate horizon, we are seeking a dedicated Finance Business Planning Process Owner.

Currently, our markets rely on fragmented planning processes, legacy Excel models for long-term planning, budgeting, and monthly estimates. Your mission is to change that. You will own the financial planning process globally, driving standardization and enforcing best practices. It is also essential to drive a continuous improvement process after the rollout is completed to ensure that planning models are always fit for purpose and never fall behind business needs.

You will be the bridge between our finance stakeholders, our operational teams, and our technical teams, ensuring our planning architecture is built for the future.

While our current focus is successfully rolling out Anaplan on a market-by-market basis, you will also help shape our long-term vision, laying the groundwork to eventually transition our deployment strategy toward highly scalable, functional-area releases.

More specifically, you will be expected to:

  • Drive the unification of financial planning processes across all markets, dismantling legacy Excel habits and enforcing a single, global standard;
  • Act as the primary business lead for upcoming market-by-market Anaplan implementations;
  • Align with local market leaders to understand their historical planning quirks, while firmly guiding them through the transition to the new global methodology;
  • Audit existing planning models (long-term planning, budget, and monthly estimates) to identify inefficiencies and design streamlined, automated solutions;
  • Establish strict, global standards for reporting, planning methodologies, target setting, KPIs, quality reviews, and system workflows in consultation with Corporate requirements;
  • Partner closely with the existing BPO for Finance to ensure strategic planning initiatives do not disrupt day-to-day financial operations and continue to implement holistic business process efficiencies with integration of Fusion systems;
  • Work hand-in-hand with the internal Anaplan team to translate complex financial requirements into robust, sustainable system architecture;
  • Implement Planning Quality Evaluation Process, define KPIs and drive the execution of the process across the organization;
  • Evaluate and map out the future roadmap, exploring the strategic transition from regional deployments to global functional-area releases over the long term.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Extensive background in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Finance Transformation, or as a Business Process Owner;
  • Proven experience working with and designing SAP data structures and system architecture.
  • Proven experience leading global system rollouts, specifically moving regional teams toward standardized global processes;
  • Direct experience working with modern planning solutions (ie. Anaplan), implementation or advanced functional usage is highly preferred;
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of driving change and enforcing alignment across diverse international markets;
  • A strategic mindset that understands how to balance long-term financial planning with monthly budgeting realities;
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between financial business needs and technical IT execution.

Travel: In this role, you may be required to travel to other locations (mainly within Europe) for approximately 20% of the time.

Language: Advanced proficiency in English (verbal and written). Proficiency in French or Spanish is beneficial.

Location: This position will be based in our Mlaga office.

While we thank everyone for their application, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Preference will be given to candidates who already have full working rights in Spain and EU.

Glencore welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
