In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training as part of a collaborative team environment
- Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit, spoil, haulage and closure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts
- Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coal blending results
- Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound mining practices
- Perform economic evaluations, long range capital consolidation, productivity analyses, strategic planning assessments, and peer reviews
- Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within the business unit. Assist in developing mine permit applications and amendments and ensure mine plans are following permit compliance
- Participate in the development of annual reserves and resource reporting
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five years of experience in mine planning
- Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a Professional Engineer
- Proficiency in mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions, and mine design software such as Minesight 3D
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Motivated self-starter, able to work under minimal supervision
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
For applicants registered as an EIT or GIT, annual base salary will be determined by EVR's formal progression matrix based on verified relevant years of experience.
