In this role you will be responsible for:

. The successful candidate will report to the Coordinator (Metallurgical).

. Provide strong leadership by planning, organising, leading, and controlling daily Plant operations.

. Directly Supervise the process team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all Plant processes.

. Ensure that Health, Safety & Environment legal requirements are complied with at all times.

. Assist with controlling the Plant process costs in line with budget requirements.

. Ensure that stockpile management and dispatches are executed according to plan.

. Ensure that production targets and final product quality specifications are achieved.

. Communicate production & safety targets and performance weekly to production team.

. Monitor Plant performance on a daily basis and perform necessary changes as directed.

. Ensure that planned maintenance is performed on all process equipment.

. Resolve Plant process breakdowns and achieve plant utilisation/uptime targets.

. Continuously improve and optimise Plant processes and Operating procedures.

. Perform standby duties and work overtime when required.

 

About you:

. Diploma in Chemical or Extractive Metallurgy or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF6).

. Certificate in Basic Coal Preparation (advantageous)

. Legal Liability for Supervisors Certificate would be advantageous.

. At least minimum of 3 years operational experience in a Supervisory position.

. Previous exposure to different metallurgical processes especially in gravity & magnetic separation plant processes.

. Understanding of quality control systems.

. Decision making and problem-solving skills.

. Supervisory skills the ability to make a significant contribution towards achieving company objectives.

. Knowledge of Mining industry standards, procedures, especially health & safety and legal requirements

. Medically fit to work on surface, at heights and in confined spaces.

. SAP and Coupa working experience.
