The Role

As a Senior Carrier Relationship Manager, you will lead strategic engagement with Fidelity Medicare Services most complex and high-impact insurance carrier partners, including large national carriers and select regional carriers. This role is responsible for advancing enterprise business objectives, enhancing service delivery, and identifying new growth opportunities through highly strategic partnerships.

You will serve as the primary owner of these key carrier relationships, driving enterprise-level strategy, leading contract negotiations, and influencing carrier performance and alignment. This role requires a strong blend of executive relationship management, operational leadership, and deep Medicare industry expertise.

As a senior individual contributor and key member of the Carrier Management and Business Enablement (CMBE) Leadership Team, you will also play a broader leadership role across the organization by providing mentorship, guidance, and peer support to team members, as well as contributing to cross-functional initiatives and overall team success.

This role will report to the Head of Carrier Management and Business Enablement.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 plus years of professional experience, including 6 plus years of Medicare-related experience in sales, sales leadership, or relationship management
  • Proven experience working for or directly with insurance carriers
  • Deep knowledge of Medicare products, regulations, and market dynamics
  • Maintains an active health insurance license or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Executive level communication and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and negotiation capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel for carrier engagements and industry meetings

Strategic Partnership Leadership: Lead and own executive-level relationships with large national carrier partners and select regional carriers developing and executing plans aligned to with Fidelity Medicare Services business objectives

Carrier Portfolio Management: Own a portfolio of complex, high-impact carrier relationships, ensuring performance, growth, and long-term alignment, while driving accountability and alignment across internal and external stakeholders supporting these partnerships

Performance and Operational Excellence: Define and oversee service level expectations, KPIs, and performance metrics across assigned carriers conducting comprehensive annual carrier evaluations assessing performance, alignment with customer needs, and competitive positioning

Growth and Expansion: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new carrier partners to enhance market competitiveness and expand offerings driving innovation and joint growth initiatives with carrier partners

Contract and Negotiation Leadership: Lead complex contract negotiations and re-negotiations to mitigate risk and improve financial outcomes (e.g., commissions, service terms). Maintain deep expertise in contractual obligations and regulatory requirements

Escalation and Governance: Serve as the primary escalation point for high-impact carrier issues and audits ensuring timely resolution and compliance with contractual and regulatory standards

Cross-Functional and Enterprise Influence: Act as a subject matter expert in enterprise initiatives across training, compliance, marketing, and operations facilitating strategic collaboration and knowledge sharing between internal teams and carrier partners

Leadership and Team Contribution: Serve as an active member of the CMBE Leadership Team contributing to broader team initiatives and supporting organizational priorities including mentorship, coaching, and peer guidance.

Execution Excellence: Ensure accountability for deliverables, follow-ups, and outcomes from carrier engagements delivering disciplined execution against strategic and operational priorities

Fidelitys Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $79,000-153,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidates relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
