Position Description:
Develops new Cloud-native financial services platforms using modern technologies. Develops features, defines architecture and technical design, and evolves the development process. Produces accurate and maintainable code for test automation and software utilities, using programming languages (Java). Deploys, maintains and scales containerized applications, using Kubernetes. Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Performs post-installation testing to identify and resolve technical problems. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise system development using Java, Spring, and AWS Cloud technologies in financial and large public enterprise system.
Or, alternatively, Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing enterprise system development using Java, Spring, and AWS Cloud technologies in financial and large public enterprise system.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing Cloud-native microservices (using Spring Boot (Tomcat) and Java J2EE) deployed on AWS EKS via Docker containers; enabling distributed tracing with Sleuth; performing secured services using OAuth2; enforcing JWT with fine-grained authorization policies using Open Policy Agent (OPA) for dynamic, centralized access control; and performing high-performance traffic routing using NLB and Kubernetes.
- DE performing microservices integration using MariaDB, CockroachDB, Redis, and Lettuce for reactive data access and caching; performing system health monitoring using Datadog; performing durable storage of batch outputs, logs, and ETL artifacts, using Amazon S3 to support compliance, backup, and reporting; and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and Elastic Container Registry (ECR).
- DE designing and developing REST APIs governed by OpenAPI specifications in SwaggerHub; validating endpoints using Bruno and automated BDD test suites via Cucumber and REST Assured; simulating external dependencies using WireMock; integrating asynchronous messaging via Confluent Kafka and protobuff; enforcing secure deployment policies using OPA; and orchestrating via Helm on EKS for consistent, event-driven deployments.
- DE developing high-volume batch jobs using Spring Batch for chunked processing, fault tolerance, and partitioning; orchestrating ETL workflows using Control-M and Kubernetes CronJobs; offloading processed data and reports to Amazon S3 for archival and analytics; publishing downstream data via Kafka; validating job integrity using Datadog metrics and logs; and automating job wrappers, validations, and cleanup, using Shell Scripting.
