Position Description:
Builds Web user experience and underlying platforms to support the business digital presence. Builds highly scalable systems to deliver the best omni channel (Web, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT)) experience to customers. Deploys changes to customers using continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) tools, while minimizing risk using practices -- A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles. Builds scalable, maintainable, and type-safe Web applications, using JavaScript and TypeScript. Structures and styles the user interface (UI), using HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Debugs, inspects, and optimizes performance, ensuring the code interacts efficiently with the network, HTTP, and Application Programing Interfaces (APIs). Monitors, renders, and debugs CSS layouts and JavaScript for errors. Monitors code changes across branches and collaborates with teams using GIT. Complements the front-end and enables full stack development, using Express framework for routine, middleware, and backend logic. Integrates visual design principles and rapid prototyping to ensure UI is functional for customers, allowing quick iterations and user flows.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
- Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
- Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
- Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
- Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
- Collaborates with design and product management to create elegant, usable, responsive, and interactive interfaces across multiple devices.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Applications, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent including 3-year foreign degree) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building Web applications using Angular, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
Or, alternatively, Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Applications, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and building Web applications using Angular, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (DE) supporting UI design and development (using Angular, AngularJS, and Core JavaScript) and backend API development (using Node.js and RESTful APIs); defining high-quality coding standards for consistency, maintainability, and efficiency; and conducting code reviews to enforce standards, quality, and security, using GitHub and SonarQube.
- DE building reusable and reliable code, revamping and rewriting front-end components, con-tributing new code, and reworking existing code; and optimizing Web pages for maxi-mum speed and scalability, and determining the structure and design of Web pages to ensure user experience drives design choices, using Angular, Core JavaScript, Webpack, and JQuery.
- DE designing scalable and modular front-end architecture and developing enterprise-grade Web applications, using Angular and Node.js; delivering high-performance, maintainable solutions through component-driven design, state management, and responsive UIs; and collaborating across teams to integrate secure back-end services and optimize end-to-end application performance.
- DE implementing comprehensive testing strategies using Jest and Jasmine, including unit testing and end-to-end (E2E) testing to validate functionality, performance, and reliability; ensuring code quality and maintainability through Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and CI practices; and driving robust test coverage to support scalable, high-performance Web applications.
