Position Description:
Builds solutions that leverage data and analytics to support delivering outstanding performance for customers. Collaborates closely with quantitative investment research teams to co-develop, validate, and implement new research ideas and solutions. Designs and develops database solutions using Oracle, PL/SQL, and Python. Implements data movement and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using Informatica, emphasizing data warehouse concepts. Develops solutions using Python, showcasing full-stack software development knowledge. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in architecture design teams.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
- Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Advises senior management on technical strategy.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) experience implementing and supporting applications using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Python, or Shell scripting on cloud-based or on-premises infrastructures.
Or, alternatively, Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) experience implementing and supporting applications using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, Python, or Shell scripting on cloud-based or on-premises infrastructures.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing and building data warehouse solutions using Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler or Visual Studio and deploying on Linux servers; maintaining extensive data sets using Oracle Database within a Linux server infrastructure; designing and optimizing operational and transactional databases using Oracle Database within enterprise environments; and developing and implementing database schemas and structures using Oracle SQL Developer or Toad in both on-premises and Cloud-based infrastructures.
- DE optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity through advanced scripting and data-base management techniques; developing and maintaining database applications using Oracle SQL/PLSQL within enterprise environments; automating data processing tasks using Python or shell scripting on Linux servers; and building and deploying scalable solutions using Python or shell scripting in on-premises or Cloud-based infrastructures.
- DE conducting data analysis and identifying anomalies in large data sets using metadata-driven ETL solutions with Oracle Enterprise Edition, SQL/PLSQL, SQL Loader, and Unix shell scripting; developing new processes and reporting capabilities by analyzing Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) reports, using Oracle SQL Developer or Toad on Linux servers or Cloud platforms; and coordinating and tracking project deliverables using JIRA.
- DE deploying code changes using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins and GitHub Repository; and automating, integrating, and maintaining application workflows using Control-M or Autosys.
Salary: $168,500.00 - $181,000.00/year.
