The Finance function is responsible for the financial accounting for FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB) as well as providing management information, monitoring financial controls and ensuring compliance with the financial regulations of the

local regulators. Our vision is to be a trusted, knowledgeable, pro-active and commercial business partner, whilst delivering effective and efficient financial control, decision support and risk management.

About your role :


The purpose of your role is ensuring the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of the bank. You will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic analysis, providing valuable insights to the management. Your role will also serve as the local contact for financial related issues with procurement and accounts payable. Your expertise in financial controls will help drive efficiency, optimize financial performance and support decision-making.

Key responsibilities :

  • Ensure accurate and compliant financial accounting for a regulated credit institution, including monthend and yearend closing activities under HGB / RechKredV and USGAAP, ensuring high data quality and timely delivery.

  • Serve as the main contact for AWV reporting, accounts payable, cashier tasks and provisions. Ensure accurate processing and compliance with all regulatory and internal standards.

  • Assisting in the development of cost accounting and costcontrol processes, including allocation methodologies, cost center structures, internal charging mechanisms, and transparency of direct/indirect costs to support management decisionmaking.

  • Conduct detailed cost analyses and variance investigations, translating findings into actionable recommendations for senior management and ensuring alignment with planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles.

  • Prepare management reports and financial performance dashboards, ensuring that key cost, efficiency, and profitability KPIs are monitored and escalated appropriately.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including scenario analysis, cost driver assessments, and alignment with business initiatives and regulatory expectations (e.g., cost transparency, outsourcing governance, IT spend tracking).

  • Ensure strong internal controls and documentation standards in accordance with banking regulatory requirements (e.g., MaRisk, BAIT) and internal Fidelity policies, including maintaining auditready process documentation for accounting and costrelated activities.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Outsourcing, Compliance, IT Finance, Procurement and AP Team to ensure proper accounting treatment, correct cost allocation, and consistent financial interpretations.

  • Continuously improve processes in the Finance department, identifying automation opportunities (e.g., Power BI, Power Query, SAP/Oracle enhancements) and implementing bestpractice workflows to increase transparency, efficiency, and control.

About you :

  • University degree in e.g. Finance/Economics/Business-Informatics or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the banking or financial services sector

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, PowerBI and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset

  • A team player, who will be able to work within the overall culture and fit with its entrepreneurial but collaborative style

  • Good knowledge of accounting under German (HGB / RechKredV) and US GAAP ;

  • Fluent spoken and written German and English

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Dedicated to accuracy and quality, with attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, proactive, organised and able to use initiative and prioritise in a multi-task environment
