The Role

Fidelitys Background Investigations team provides comprehensive global vetting of new hires as well as conducting extensive post-hire reviews and piloting emerging technology for investigations. We work enterprise-wide and partner with diverse teams such as Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Legal, Risk, IT, and Procurement to help business units navigate complex hiring situations.

In this role, youll build new partnerships and strengthen existing ones to champion best practices for associate vetting across Fidelity. Youll play a vital role in various cross-functional committees and leverage this experience to shape Backgrounds future state technology roadmap. As part of your day-to-day work, youll oversee the end-to-end processing of security concerns, collaborating with Legal to assess and mitigate potential risks.

Other long-term projects for this Director include knowledge base design, establishing a recurring training program for associates as well as identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements. Once fully onboarded, this Director will manage a team of background investigators and partner closely with Internal Investigations on escalated or sensitive issues.

Implement transformational upgrades to modernize the teams investigative process and technology

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

12-15 years of strategy, operations, or cross-functional business experience

Management and coaching expertise, from entry level to people managers

Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills; executive briefing experience preferred (L1, L2, L3)

Demonstrated expertise in investigative analysis and techniques or a strong desire to build investigative skillsets and learn our proprietary methodologies

Exceptional relationship management and partnership building experience

Track record of managing a portfolio of work with diverse sensitivities and priority levels; ability to quickly diagnose and navigate sensitive organizational matters

Experience building new programs and/or comfort working within ambiguity

Fidelitys Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
