Job Role Description

The Facilities Engineer - Advanced is expected to apply process engineering skills, knowledge of upstream operations and technology, and leadership skills to:
- Solve moderately complex problems on existing production / manufacturing assets
- Support the development and deployment of new technologies
- Support the development, design, and commissioning of projects within their discipline
- Acquire a strong working knowledge of technology fundamentals for their assigned areas
This role is expected to effectively collaborate, interact, and communicate with partners. The Facilities Engineer - Advanced will start developing key leadership skills to facilitate the transition from an individual contributor to a technical leader
The Facilities Engineer - Advanced will have a regional impact and assist with the development of both functional and behavioral skills of less experienced engineers within their technical discipline

Job Role Responsibilities

Technical Support: Provide requested technical support to production sites to improve overall performance in safety, reliability, and profitability. Activities could include process surveillance and troubleshooting; process improvement, optimization, and debottlenecking studies; participation in incident investigation efforts, HAZOPs, risk assessments, etc. including evaluation and resolution of follow-up / recommended actions; engineering support for facility modifications through the Management of Change process; turnaround support (setting the workscope, shutdown & startup support, inspection support, etc.)
Project Support: Support the implementation of improvement projects on existing production sites. Activities could include modeling & simulation to support the generation of the project H&MB; contributing to technical deliverables, e.g. design basis, design considerations, risk analysis, etc.
Development and Deployment of Technologies: Support the development and deployment of new Upstream technology under the guidance of a technical expert. Activities could include modeling & simulation, adapting existing design practices in a new application, etc.; contributing to technical deliverables, e.g. technical reports, design basis, design considerations, risk analysis, technical readiness, etc.
Mentoring: Provide mentorship and coaching to early career professionals
Collaboration and Networking: Participate in multi-discipline teams to resolve technical challenges and internal technical networks to share technical knowledge
Work Process Improvements: Improve work processes & tools; identify cross-functional business improvement opportunities
Additional Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate capability to influence without direct authority
