Full Job Description
Associate - Private Capital Advisory (LP)
What is the position? Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Associate for its LP secondaries team in London.
Group Description: Evercores Private Capital Advisory (PCA) team is the global leader in secondary market advisory. The team advises financial sponsors (GPs) on a broad range of portfolio and fund management objectives, limited partners (LPs) on generating liquidity from their private markets fund and co-investment portfolios, and both parties on structured transactions, including collateralised fund obligations (CFOs).
Evercore PCA is a market leader in LP secondaries, a market that has delivered double-digit growth for the past two decades. This dominant position in a growing market enables successful team members to progress rapidly within private equity and to assume greater responsibility earlier than in traditional investment banking roles. Specifically, after the first 18 months spent gathering reps, building buyer relationships and a personal book of smaller clients becomes a key part of the Associate role, as well as handling important commercial discussions, including buyer and client calls.
Specific Qualifications: Above all, PCA is looking for humble, hungry, and smart individuals. The teams culture is entrepreneurial: effort, initiative, and a willingness to solve problems independently and to learn on the job are extremely high valued.
- Minimum of 2-3 years previous experience in a related field required (secondaries advisory / buyside experience working at an LP, IR function at a GP or fundraising)
- Strong command of the PE Fund landscape and understanding of how a PE Fund works
- A degree in a quantitative discipline such as finance, economics or accounting, preferred
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to articulate ideas precisely
- Superior analytical and reasoning skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and AI tools such as ChatGPT
- Capacity for sustained hard work in support of the team, often under tight deadlines
- Ability to drive several projects concurrently, with increasing independence
- Strong interpersonal skills, enthusiastic, outgoing and well-adjusted character
- Ability to manage others, train and develop junior talents
- Meticulous attend to detail, with pride and competitiveness in producing quality work
