Job title - Senior

 

Job purpose

This role is responsible for overseeing critical Record to Report (R2R) processes, managing reporting activities, and leading a team of finance professionals. It ensures the precision and efficiency of financial operations while fostering continuous improvement within the R2R function.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform the Record to Report process (journal entries, reconciliations, or reporting) by validating the work performed by junior team members and addressing queries from the team as well as from clients.
  • Monitor day-to-day R2R operations; handle escalations and complex issues and implement corrective and preventive measures as necessary to ensure smooth operations
  • Generate reports and update dashboards in adherence to the reporting and governance framework, ensuring compliance with internal and external standard.
  • Conduct regular connects (meetings) with the team to understand issues and provide actionable solutions and foster collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure smooth month-end closure with minimal outstanding items or errors, driving accountability within the team
  • Responsible for backup planning and facilitating knowledge transfer sessions within the team to enhance capabilities and ensure continuity of operations
  • Review and update process documentation and checklists for R2R tasks, ensuring they reflect current practices and standards.
  • Work on sanitizing working files and initiating automation/efficiency improvements in the process to enhance productivity
  • Support system changes or upgrades by performing UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and related activities, if any.
  • Attend governance calls, track action items, and ensure timely closure of all action items to maintain operational integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in both efficiency and process streamlining within R2R operations, promoting culture of continuous improvements

 

Functional & Technical skills

 

  • Comprehensive end-to-end understanding of Record to Report (R2R) processes, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of R2R reporting processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and compliance requirements.
  • Solid understanding of overall accounting processes and principles, with familiarity in IFRS and US GAAP considered a plus.
  • Experience in conducting process gap analysis, managing transitions, and overseeing delivery.
  • Proven ability to work across various regions, including EMEIA, Americas, and APAC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong expertise in ERP systems such as Microsoft D365, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
  • Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision; a motivated self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Com/M.Com/ACCA/CA inter/MBA Finance with overall 5 9 Yrs of relevant experience in accounting/finance with extensive R2R exposure.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead teams and manage complex financial operations effectively.
