OT / ICS Security Consultant Senior -  EY GDS Spain - Hybrid 

 

The opportunity

As an OT / ICS Security Consultant at EY GDS Spain, you will support organizations across industry, transportation, public sector, and healthcare in securing their operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) environments.

You will work at the intersection of cybersecurity, operations, and physical systemshelping to identify and mitigate cyber risks while ensuring availability, safety, and operational continuity. In this role, cybersecurity goes beyond data protection: it safeguards people, critical infrastructure, and essential services that society depends on.

As a member of our team in the EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, youll have a chance to extend your knowledge & experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. Youll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation. 

 

Your key responsibilities

You will design and implement security approaches tailored to highly critical and regulated OT environments, ensuring stability and resilience without disrupting operations.

  • Designing, implementing, and operating OT security monitoring and detection concepts across industrial, transportation, public sector, and healthcare environments
  • Building and supporting OT-capable SOC / CSOC structures adapted to high-availability and regulated systems
  • Integrating OT data sources into centralized security platforms while respecting strict operational constraints (availability, safety, maintenance windows)
  • Developing OT-specific detection and analysis use cases (e.g., unauthorized control commands, engineering changes, protocol anomalies)
  • Mapping cyber threat scenarios to real-world operational impacts, including production, infrastructure, and patient safety
  • Advising clients on secure IT/OT architectures, segmentation strategies, and access models
  • Supporting governance, compliance, and regulatory alignment for critical infrastructure and public sector requirements

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong understanding of OT / ICS cybersecurity and its differences compared to traditional IT security
  • Ability to balance security requirements with operational stability, safety, and regulatory constraints
  • Structured and responsible working style with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • High awareness of the societal impact of cybersecurity in critical environments
  • Collaborative mindset for working across operational, engineering, and business teams

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 3 - 5 years of Experience in OT, ICS, or technically critical operational environments
  • Hands-on experience with OT monitoring, network analysis, or passive detection technologies
  • Solid understanding of high-availability and safety-relevant systems
  • Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken)

 

Ideally, youll also have

  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., critical infrastructure, public sector, healthcare)
  • Familiarity with OT-specific standards, frameworks, or regulatory requirements
  • German Speaking (written and spoken)
  • Experience in IT/OT convergence or industrial network segmentation
