Pricing and Commercial Architect (Supervising Associate)

The opportunity

As a Pricing and Commercial Architect, youll hold primary responsibility for providing financial and commercial modelling pursuit support for EYs largest, most complex and most strategic opportunities. You will help shape and close new business opportunities by drawing together competitive intelligence (price, solution, and commercial), client business and solution requirements, internal EY cost to serve estimates and commercial model options.

The objective of the role is to enable and facilitate EY in winning profitable business through the development and creation of robust financial models that drive optimal outcomes for both the client and EY.

The role will include supporting strategic initiatives within UKI Commercial Team, including the development of capability, reusable tools and pricing assets, and the embedding of commercial best practice, processes, knowledge and behaviours within EY.

 

Your Responsibility

As a Pricing and Commercial Architect, youll be responsible for all aspects of competitive analysis: 

  • Through financial modelling, support a combination of costing the solution components, development of the Client Business Case, the EY Business Case, a pricing response, contractual pricing schedules and documents and mitigating EY risks. Use of Copilot AI judiciously.
  • Support the preparation of the pursuits EY financial business case for internal approvals including the production of Mercury reports and financial analysis for DRF packs.
  • Financial analysis and risk assessment through scenario and commercial evaluation modelling.
  • Support the transfer of the pricing knowledge to delivery teams to ensure the ongoing management of the financial aspects of contracts.
  • Capture knowledge and contribute to the development and embedding into EY artefacts that can be used to support pursuits e.g., costing and pricing policies, models, promoting re-use assets wherever possible.

 

Skills and Attributes for Success 

  • Demonstratable advanced excel skill in complex modelling.
  • High level of drive and ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Highly numerate and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, and able to continually produce work of consistently high-quality within time constraints.
  • Comfortable working in unstructured environments and the ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and change. Thriving in a matrixed organization is essential, balancing the needs of the client against business initiatives and goals. 

 

To qualify for this role, you must have 

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Accounting experience ideally in a professional service and/or technology firm.
  • 3+ years post accountancy/financial qualification or equivalent experience with financial reporting, accounting practices and presentation of financial information. MBA and / or certifications covering financial knowledge (CFA, CMA, CPA) would carry significant advantages.
  • Complex data/financial modelling skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling, with any experience of VBA, Access, or SQL a distinct advantage will be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated capabilities in MS Office specially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and be highly organised and be experienced in working with complex data and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong EQ and personal presence.
  • Ability to influence without authority, lead and coach others.
  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
