Assistant Manager Complex Securities
As part of our EY-Valuations team, you will help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles and other assets. The group is comprised of several key areas, including business valuation, business modelling, capital equipment and complex securities
The opportunity
We are looking for Assistant Managers with expertise in Quantitative Finance and Complex Securities Valuation to join EY-VME (Valuation, Modelling and Economics). Your key responsibilities
- Expertise in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of structured finance and fixed income instruments, including ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, corporate debt, term loans, and other credit-sensitive securities.
- Strong understanding of cash flow modelling, loan-level and pool-level analytics, prepayment and default modelling, recovery analysis, scenario testing, and credit risk assessment for structured credit portfolios.
- Experience in the valuation of loan portfolios, structured products, fixed income securities, loss reserve (CECL) estimates, impaired credit assets, and securitized products, utilizing market, income, and scenario-based valuation methodologies.
- Advanced financial modelling skills with the ability to build and review cash flows, valuation, waterfall, and credit loss models for corporate debt, loan pools, ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, and other structured finance instruments.
- Strong knowledge of structured finance concepts including collateral analysis, tranche structures, credit enhancement, overcollateralization, delinquency, default, recovery, prepayment, and expected credit loss methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing client-ready valuation reports, technical memo, model documentation, and presentation materials.
- Collaborate effectively with global teams, clients, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality valuation and advisory services within established timelines.
- Leverage advanced analytical tools, market data platforms, Excel, Python, and other technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of valuation processes.
Skills and attributes for success
- Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
- Experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking and Corporate Finance
- Experience in financial modelling, including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred like Python, R etc.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in any of the following sectors will be added advantage Financial Services and related industries
- Exposure to databases such as Intex, Refinitiv, Capital IQ, Bloomberg etc.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 3-4 years of related work experience
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in the valuation and analysis of structured finance and fixed income instruments, including ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, corporate debt, term loans, loan portfolios, and other credit-sensitive securities. Experience applying valuation methodologies such as discounted cash flow (DCF), market-based approaches, scenario analysis, credit loss estimation, and cash flow modeling for financial reporting, risk assessment, and transaction support purposes.
- Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification
Ideally, you should have
