As our Senior Consultant in Transaction Diligence, youll work with experienced deal teams to analyse the financial performance and drivers of businesses throughout the transaction lifecycle. Youll contribute across buy-side and sell-side engagements for private equity and corporate clients in sectors such as retail, consumer products, manufacturing and broader industrial markets, helping clients understand value, risks and opportunities before they make critical investment decisions.

 

This is a hybrid position based in Naarm Melbourne. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Work across buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements, analysing quality of earnings, working capital, cash flow, net debt and the key commercial drivers of the target business.
  • Turn complex financial and operational information into clear, decision-useful insights and contribute to high-quality reports for private equity, corporate and other investor clients.
  • Collaborate with senior team members, clients and specialists across EY-Parthenon while building your transaction experience, sector knowledge and client relationships.

 

Skills and attributes for success 

 

  • At least 1 year of Financial Due Diligence (FDD) experience gained within a Big 4 or second-tier consulting firm.
  • Experience supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions, including financial analysis and due diligence reporting.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce, economics or a related discipline.
  • Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or international equivalent

 

Ideally, youll also have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn. 

 

  • Experience working with private equity and corporate clients across sectors such as retail, consumer products, manufacturing and broader industrial markets.
  • Strong commercial judgement, curiosity and the ability to turn financial analysis into practical transaction insights.
