Summary

EY is seeking a Security Data Engineer to provide data engineering services to projects and programs that support Information Security technology. This individual contributor role partners with business and technology stakeholders to design, build and optimize secure, scalable data platforms, pipelines and integrations that strengthen reporting, analytics, governance and operational decision-making.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide data engineering services to projects and programs across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data platforms, pipelines and integration solutions.
  • Design and implement data models, integration patterns, deployment approaches and monitoring practices.
  • Support data quality, governance, security, performance and resiliency across delivered solutions.
  • Drive modernization, automation and continuous improvement across the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Partner effectively with architects, engineers, product owners and project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

 

Experience

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT and large-scale data integration.
  • Strong hands-on capability in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Java or Scala.
  • Experience with cloud and on-premises data platforms, orchestration, observability and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata, access controls, privacy and security.
  • 5+ years of experience as a data engineer
  • Experience with AI and synthetic data generation is a plus. 

 

Business Skills

  • Experience delivering enterprise data engineering solutions across complex, global projects and programs.
  • Ability to work with senior business and technology stakeholders to align requirements, priorities and delivery outcomes.
  • Strong consulting, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills in a matrixed environment.

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Security certifications or secure software experience (Cybersecurity, SANS, ISC2, etc.) are a definite plus.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
